In FirstConnect, ASRs act as an extension of your admissions department. They make sure the prospect is available and willing to talk with you prior to transfer.
Who Are They?: FirstConnect Prospects
The FirstConnect lead is one who has specifically requested information. They have already showed interest in your school and would like to find out more. We are contacting these leads per their request. They are expecting our contact, so they are open to speaking with us. Consequently, they will also be more open to speaking with you after the transfer.
An ASR will place the call and connect with the prospect. When an ASR calls, it is as if the assistant in your admissions department is calling to say “We received your request for information. Our admissions representative needs to ask you a few short questions so that they can better help you. Do you have a few moments now?” This lead is no different than if you were to make the call yourself.
The prospect generally assumes that the ASR is an admissions secretary or administrative assistant who works for your school. We do not sell, probe or attempt to influence outcomes at this stage. They are then warm-transferred to the person who can best help them … you.
