Did you know?
- You should seek to understand what has changed for ReConnect leads over the past months.
- You should show that you genuinely care about their situation and their future.
What’s Next?: ReConnect
When you receive a ReConnect lead, understand that they have been in touch with your school before. These prospects tend to have lower self-esteem. They struggle with making decisions and staying the course, so you really need to be firm. Last time you spoke with this person, they chose not to go to school. So it is most important for you to understand what has changed for them.
You may want to start with a question like, "I understand you are ready to reconsider your career plans right now. What makes this the right time, Jim?" It is critical that you understand this reason for each ReConnect lead. It is likely to help you understand the pain-point or sense of urgency. You may also want to ask, "What made you decide last time that it wasn't the right time to make a career change?"
Once you understand their situation, ask the same probing questions you normally ask. Realize that most of what they said 6 months ago has likely changed. If you follow this process, you can show that you truly empathize with their personal situation. It also shows the prospect that you care about their future.
